Greenhouse Effect Causes: The Major Ones

Greenhouse Effect Causes: The Major Ones

The earth is a mystical place. It cools down at night and again heats up in the morning. It releases the heat in the form of radiation to space. But before it frees them to space, these radiations have to pass through the greenhouse gases of the atmosphere. The gases then absorb these infrared radiations to keep our planet warm. But since the last few decades, the greenhouse effect is increasing. Below we look at the greenhouse effect causes which are impacting our world.

The Vital Greenhouse Effect Causes

·        The burning of different types of fossil fuels has become an essential part of our lives. Every day we burn coal, natural gas, and oil, and this is one of the significant greenhouse effect causes. We use all these fuels to produce electricity and also to facilitate transportation. When you burn the fuel, carbon emission happens. And this carbon then combines with the oxygen present in the air to form harmful carbon dioxide.

Our population has been increasing drastically over the past few years. And with the increase in society, the number of vehicles on the road has also been growing. Because of this, the carbon content in the air is also increasing. We still are extensively dependent on coal to generate electricity. And this too is a significant reason behind the tremendous impact of the greenhouse effect.

·        Forests are the essence of our world. They have a maximum green area. And the plants and trees in forests help by taking away the carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and then converting them to oxygen. And this process helps us in surviving. But with the rapid urbanization, the trees and plants are being cut down. Because of this, the reduction of carbon from the atmosphere is not happening. Also, when humans burn the wood, the carbon in the trees again gets back to the air.

What Are The Other Causes?

·        The significant rise in the population over the past few years is another primary reason behind the impactful greenhouse effect. As the population increases the demand for all the necessary amenities also goes up. And to satisfy the same new manufacturing units come up. These units emit harmful gases to the atmosphere. And as the population is more, the burning of fossil fuel is also more.

·        Farming and agriculture is another sector where the practices are causing damage. The extensive usage of pesticides and fertilizers is exceptionally harmful to nature. All of them have nitrous oxide in them, which is one of the greenhouse gases.

·        There have been many industries which are coming up in the world. Some are doing coal mining activities, and some are producing cement and fertilizers. All of them emit harmful greenhouse gases which are damaging the atmosphere. They also throw their waste in landfills. And these toxic gases subsequently get in the air and mix with the greenhouse gases. It is highly essential to manage the emission of harmful gases and also waste to reduce the effect.
