Study for behaviors of animals which changes due to ecological pressures is called Behavioral Ecology. It emerged when ornithologists study animal behaviors and went to investigate it. However, animal plan their resource strategy, breeding strategies, communicating with their partner.
As they plan these things, the changes that happen in their behavior is concerned with ecology. The expression given by a trait affects their fitness and growth also. Many experiments have done with different species to review on all aspects of behavioral ecology.
The behaviors of animals depend on the action of their neighbors. The nature of their behavior connected with their evolution, such as it concerns with behavioural ecology , pheromone releasing, and many more.
Resource Defense Affects Behavioural Ecology :
The behavior when animals renew their food supply or go to prey shows their defensive response. However, any intruders if come into their territory, they try to move them out from their food. But in some cases, the opposite of the same action also can be seen. The two or more food sharers can catch their food and go to their territory.
As a result, this helps to illustrate the advantages of living in a group. Even they can help each other to face their enemies. In contrast, intruders may come when there is a massive resource of food is available. For example, fishes have experimented. They were in a jar, and they gave food to them. As a result, they distributed the food, and all of them ate with their portions.
Parental-Care Behavior :
Parental care is one of the critical behavior, and we can witness in the animal kingdom. Including, feeding, caring, protecting, preparing safe nests for them are the various behaviors connected with ecology. For example, birds produce a large number of eggs, preserve and take care of them as single-parent or even bi-parent. Although the fertilization of different species has its way, so their behavior changes eventually. Primarily, the female parent takes the ultimate care of the infants. Because the female parent’s behavior changes when they lay eggs or get pregnant. There hormones and emotions changes with their body. Moreover, the individual parent has a limited parental investment to put in.
Social Behaviours :
The cooperation between different species of animals increases their fitness and evolves them. The effect on behaviors of individual on different bases based on the responses of their neighbors. However, social practices also found in encounters with different species. Whereas it observed that many species of birds abandoned their infants if they are not in the nest. Therefore, this behavior determined the ecology system still now. Hence, the study is beneficial for the different species to have their behaviors ecologically. Also, it informs us about the evolving practice of species, which benefit us to make the world a better place for them. In conclusion, there is massive interest in this topic, social evolution; some conditions have to have cooperated rather than conflict.
